Italian railway stations house authentic jewels: waiting rooms originally designed for royal families and heads of state. Built between the late 19th century and the 1930s, the historic halls are now preserved, restored, and enhanced by the FS Italiane Foundation. Divided into royal and presidential rooms and waiting rooms, the historic halls of the FS Foundation preserve frescoes, sculptures, and original furnishings that reflect various eras and travel styles. A heritage for all citizens, it deserves to be discovered through cultural activities, events, and exhibitions. After the restoration and enhancement of historic and tourist trains and railway lines, the historic halls represent the new challenge for the FS Foundation. The goal is to make them part of an integrated experience at a “different speed,” composed of slow, sustainable, and refined journeys. An exciting journey where history and Italian craftsmanship intersect with the culture of travel, redefining the value of waiting inside the railway station—the beating heart of our cities and the stage for our shared history and the advancing future "Luigi Cantamessa, General Manager Fondazione FS Italiane-CEO FS Treni Turistici Italiani"
