The journey begins in Turin, crosses the Piedmont plain, and reaches its most scenic section between Cuneo and Tende, where the tracks climb through the mountains using remarkable engineering solutions. After crossing the alpine pass, the train descends through the Roya Valley to Ventimiglia, passing picturesque villages nestled among the rocks before opening onto the Mediterranean Sea. In just a few hours, travelers experience a unique contrast between the alpine environment and the Ligurian coastline.
